The Foundation for Fiscal Studies hosted the Future of … Tax Administration in collaboration with the Revenue Commissioners. This series examined how the global megatrends of Demographics, Digitalisation, Deglobalisation, and Decarbonisation are reshaping economies, societies, and the decisions we must take today to prepare for tomorrow.

The May 2025 session focused on the future of tax administration, bringing together leading voices from government, academia, and industry. Discussions explored how these megatrends are driving systemic change, the opportunities and challenges for innovation, and the practical steps that can help shape resilient and effective public policy in a rapidly evolving world.

The keynote speakers were Tom James, Revenue Commissioners along with Michael Mitchell and Mathew Fenlon, The Problem Solving Association. Our panel discussion included an audience Q and A session, moderated by Linlih Keane, CEO University College Cork.
